Electrical power outage due to Hurricane Arthur.

No warm food. No coffee. Missed the 2 soccer matches on Saturday. No TV. No Internet. Can do bed related activities ... but how much sleep can one do! After a 34-hour power outage, electricity was finally restored late Sunday night.

While without electrical power, at the tail end of Tropical Storm Arthur on Saturday evening, I had nothing better to do than to look at the tree branches dancing to and fro. I made a video.

You know the habitual action of hitting the light switch during a power outage? It gets worse! As I sat watching the dancing branches, I decided to capture it with a video. I grabbed the camcorder and set it up on the tripod. Seeing the dead camcorder battery, I grabbed the power cord. I proceeded to the veranda where there was an outside outlet. I plugged in the power cord. Nothing! Figuring the outside outlets were not "switched on", I proceeded inside ... plugged in the power cord. Nothing! 5 seconds passed and I hit the Eureka moment of the storm - we're in a power outage. Backup plan was to use my smartphone for the video.

My excuse: I was too focused on the storm to capture the right wind moment. In reality: Senility.
Flop or foul?

The year is 2014. Scenes like this continue to haunt the game of football. A flop in the Mexico penalty area, in stoppage time, gives the Netherlands a penalty shot which goes on to put them through to the quarter-finals.

The year is 2046. FIFA no longer exists due to corruption finally being exposed and no longer tolerated by the people. There are now 3 referees on the pitch with instant replay used to review important and critical situations (like a flop in the penalty area). Internet fan officiating is being experimented with but it is not working out - China has too much influence.
